In 1976, Hélcio Carneiro Pinto took over Fazenda Santa Lucia from his parents. By the 90’s, he was one of Brazil’s coffee pioneers, helping to found APROCAM, a group of prodcers promoting quality cups in Carmo de Minas, including the introduction of the pulped natural. In fact, Hélcio was the first producer to obtain the necessary equipment for this process.

In the years since, Hélcio has worked with numerous, universities and research institutes, and has taken trips to other coffee producing countries to further his knowledge. Today, Hélcio and his 100 hectares of Bourbon, Catuai and Acaia plants at Santa Lucia hold a worldwide reputation for quality in Brazilian coffees.

Our single varietal (yellow bourbon) selection makes for an extremely smooth, mild and sweet cup. Fans of traditional Brazilian processing methods will not be disappointed.
